Eric Alberto-Lopez, professionally known as Ape Drums, is a Grammy-nominated, genre-bending DJ and producer whose path began with cassette-tape daydreams in Houston. Officially joining Major Lazer in 2019, he is now pushing beyond festival mainstages into a darker, rawer Afro-tech and Afro-house sound. Breakdance-rooted timing and a physical understanding of rhythm guide every record and set.
